
Biography
Bruce Mann is an award-winning voicover artist and actor. He studied at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and at Cambridge University.
Bruce began his voiceover career with a recording of the classic Red Badge of Courage and since then has worked countless commercials, documentaries and animations. He has worked on over 400 audiobooks; awards and nominations include two Audiofile Earphones Awards, two Audie Award nominations, an Audiofile Excellence Award and a Vocal Arts Award nomination.
Audiobook fiction highlights include Two Crafty Criminals by best-selling author Philip Pullman, Tales of of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs (with Simon Callow), the epic Maori: A Novel by Alan Dean Foster and Equilateral by Ken Kalfus. He is also a high-profile reader for non-fiction and academic titles; recent work has included The Story of Yoga by Alistair Shearer, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Dummies by Rhena Branch, Fateful Choices by Ian Kershaw, and Unexplained: Real-Life Supernatural Stories by Richard MacLean Smith.
He is in particular demand for his language skills, and narrates in French, German and Russian. He has also studied Latin extensively and has a good working knowledge of Italian and Ancient Greek. This has led to high-profile books such as Heinrich Himmler by Peter Longerich, Mussolini's War by John Gooch, Mengele: The Complete Story by Gerald Posner and a large corpus of titles on history, politics and current affairs.
Bruce is also a prolific audiobook director. He has directed many award-winning titles and has worked on books by authors such as Salman Rushdie, George R.R. Martin, Tanith Lee, Neil Gaiman, Terry Brooks and Janet Evanovich. He has directed several of the highly successful Living Language series, including the ficticious Dothraki language from the TV Series Game of Thrones in association with HBO.
Bruce now divides his time between his own studio facilities and recording studios throughout Southern California. He is a proud member of Actors' Equity and eligible for SAG-AFTRA. He is also a highly experienced film and stage actor.
When not hard at work on audiobooks and voiceovers, Bruce is a busy musician. He plays Hammond Organ and bass guitar, and is one of the Hammond Organ Company's sponsored artists. Bruce completed his doctorate (PhD) in 2011.
